Anthony Mario Paola

Anthony Paola, born May 16, 1964, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024 at his home in Holland, Michigan. Anthony leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication. A heart transplant recipient 28 years ago, Anthony proudly honored his donor every day, living with immense gratitude and purpose. With over 30 years of service in the travel and hospitality industry, Anthony achieved great success in sales and director roles, especially in meetings and events. He was admired for his leadership, expertise, and the kindness he brought to all his relationships, both personal and professional. Music was a lifelong passion for Anthony, and he began playing guitar with bands as early as high school. Throughout his life, he played with various bands, including the worship team at his church. Beyond music, Anthony loved to cook and had a deep appreciation for good food. He also cherished time with friends, making every gathering special with his warmth and humor. Anthony's deep faith and trust in God were at the center of his life, guiding him through the many challenges and triumphs he faced. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sarah Paola; his daughter Amanda Layne and her husband Steve Layne; his son Vincent Paola and his wife Jessica Paola; his stepdaughter Julia Buzzinotti; and his beloved grandchildren, Rosalie Layne and George Layne. Anthony will be remembered for his love of family, his music, and his unwavering faith. His remarkable strength, grace, and resilience defined his life, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 East 16th Street, Holland, MI, 49423. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 11, at Harderwyk Ministries, 1627 West Lakewood Blvd. Holland, MI 49424. Rev. Mary DeWitt Rev. Aaron VanderVeen and will officiate.
