Claudia Stover

Claudia (Ott) Stover passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025 after a long battle with cancer at the age of 78. The oldest of three children, Claudia was born on October 4, 1946 to Raymond and Alvina (Brueck) Ott in Benton Harbor, Michigan. While attending Lakeshore High School, she met her one and only love, Dave Stover. They were married on April 8, 1967, and raised two daughters, Laura and Lisa. Claudia graduated with an Associate’s Degree from Lake Michigan College in 1966. After 20 years, she made the brave decision to pursue her bachelor’s degree. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Michigan University in 1987 with a degree in Business Administration. In her prime, she was an avid golfer who enjoyed competition and spent many years golfing with her family at Kalamazoo Country Club. That competitive spirit was also revealed when she would complete her annual March Madness bracket. She was a passionate supporter of Hope College and the University of Michigan athletics. Claudia was the glue that kept her family together. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved and gave with all of her being. Her home was always warm and inviting, and she beamed with pride as she attended every concert or sporting event for her children and grandchildren. She loved the holidays. Thanksgiving was a time for family, giving thanks, her excellent food, and she always looked forward to watching Michigan win “The Game.” For Christmas, she took great care in decorating her home with a special spot for every ornament and decoration. Her delicious pies and cookies always welcomed holiday guests. Dave and Claudia lived the American dream. They started their lives together in a one-bedroom apartment above a plumbing store in Jackson, Michigan and retired to a beautiful home in Holland, Michigan. She wanted to have a home with enough room for any child, grandchild, or great-grandchild who would visit. Dave and Claudia lived their wedding vows to the fullest, “For better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health.” She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dave; her two daughters: Laura (Stover) Rosado (Raymond Rosado), and Lisa Stover; grandsons: Mason Rosado (Hannah (Lynn) Rosado) and Reed Rosado; great-grandson Isaiah Rosado; and brother Steven Ott (Julie Ott). She was preceded in death by her brother Allen Ott, and her parents Raymond and Alvina Ott. A time of visitation will be from 1-2 pm Wednesday, July 30, 2025, with a funeral service to follow at 2:15 pm at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 East 16th Street, Holland.
