Douglas James Danckaert

Douglas James Danckaert, age 50, of Zeeland, Michigan passed on to eternal glory on December 21, 2024. Born April 4, 1974, to William Danckaert and Kathryn Danckaert; Doug grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. He attended Catholic school until graduation after which he attended Central Michigan University graduating in 1996 with a degree in Computer Integrated Manufacturing. Doug began his career at Gentex Corporation in May of 1996 where he remained until his death. His final role was Facilities Project Manager, a position he thrived in. Doug's influence on processes, the buildings and the people at Gentex was deep. In 1997, Doug married Lynel Lambert. Together they raised two children, Dustin and Catelyn, and as a family enjoyed traveling adventures, family dinners, and innumerable laughs. They enjoyed watching the Red Wings together and rang in 2024 by attending a Griffins hockey game. Family was Doug's top priority. Known for his one-liners, Doug entertained himself and all who surrounded him with his sneaky wit. He was especially thoughtful and constantly put others before himself. His legacy of kindness, thoughtfulness, love, and compassion lives on through everyone he impacted. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lynel Danckaert; son, Dustin Danckaert; daughter, Catelyn Danckaert; sister, Jennifer (Tim Easterling) Danckaert; brother-in-law, Gary and Lesa Lambert; sister-in-law, Lisa and Tom Fluder; brother-in-law, Chris Lambert and Cate Jorgens; mother, Kathy Danckaert; father, Bill and Theresa Danckaert; father and mother in-law, Jim and Sally Lambert; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation with the family is 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Faith Reformed Church, 220 West Central Ave., Zeeland, MI 49464. Celebration of Life service to be at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 28, 2024, also at Faith Reformed Church.
