Jesse B. Saylor

Jesse Saylor, age 75, of Holland, peacefully entered his Heavenly rest on October 20, 2024. Jesus welcomed him with open arms and a joyful "Well done, good and faithful servant," no doubt receiving Jesse's best back-scratching bear hug in return. For 56 years, Jesse shared a deep and unwavering love with his wife, Rosemary (Jipping) Saylor. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to faithfulness—to the Lord and to each other. To know Jesse was to love him. He will be long remembered for his infectious laugh, constant whistling, and trademark greeting, "Did ya eat yet?". Whether you knew him for five minutes or 5 years, you were instantly promoted to "Buddy." Jesse lit up every room, every conversation, and every bonfire with his stories and jokes. With a heart full of joy and generosity, Jesse loved his family and friends deeply. His children and grandchildren held an extra special place in his heart. He prayed for them, taught them, goofed around with them, and made them laugh endlessly. And if Grandpa was around, no ears were safe from his playful nibbles! Jesse approached everyone with a spirit of Heavenly hospitality. Whether it was inviting the Amazon driver to join the family cookout for a quick burger, organizing meals for his team at Hart & Cooley, or chopping up gallons of fresh pico at a moment’s notice, Jesse’s warmth and generosity touched everyone he met. A loyal father, friend, and helping hand, Jesse could always be counted on to give his very best, whether it was building, camping, cooking, or scouring for bargains. No construction project was complete without a long trip to Menards, a well-timed "stud finder" joke, or a pretend electrocution prank. Wherever Jesse went, he left a mark with his genuine kindness, generosity, and volunteer spirit. In recent years, he and his beloved Rosie enjoyed winters in Apache Junction, AZ, where he continued to live life to the fullest. Between handyman helper jobs, he enjoyed bocce ball, poolside dance parties, and yard games with his new friends, always bringing the same energy and warmth he was known for. Jesse’s legacy of love, laughter, and service will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Living out his faith through all seasons of life, he was an obedient servant to the Lord and the willing hands and feet of Jesus to everyone he met. Jesse was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Saylor, brother-in-law, Chuck Jipping, sister-in-law Barbara (Jipping) Prieur and sister-in-law, Janice Saylor. Visitation will be 9:30-11:30am Friday, October 25 at Cultivate Community Church, 4872 136th Ave., Hamilton, MI 49419. Funeral services will follow at 12:00pm, also at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Remembrance Ranch and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ).
