Joshua Paul Brigham

Joshua Paul Brigham age 21, of Saugatuck, died Friday, July 24, 2015 from injuries sustained from an accident. He was a 2012 graduate of Hamilton High School and was getting ready to start his senior year at the University of Michigan. He was also a member of the university's Alpha Tau chapter of Chi Phi fraternity. Joshua is survived by his mother, Michelle and Peter Leiterman of West Olive; father, Joseph and Wanjiru Brigham of Saugatuck; sister, Samantha Brigham of Saugatuck; stepmother, Leslie Brigham of Holland; grandparents; Dotty Lockmiller, Byron and Nona Brigham, Linda and Arnold Warner, Peter and Marilyn Leiterman, Stephanie Sherriff, Fred and Wanda Sherriff; uncles and aunts; Ted Lockmiller, Tammy and Ed Thomas, Ed and Julie Brigham, Jim and Liz Brigham, Stephanie and Mark Rockwell, Carmen Brigham, Sara and Anthony Gilbert, Andrew Sherriff, Kelly Sherriff; many cousins and innumerable friends. Joshua was passionate about his family and friends, the University of Michigan, soccer, and working with children. He was a 4-year varsity soccer player for Hamilton High and a huge fan of Chelsea Football Club. He fulfilled a lifelong dream of attending the University of Michigan where he was pursuing a degree in psychology and planned to focus on kids. He was a Special Olympics coach for many years and was looking forward to being a counselor at U-M's Camp Kesem this summer. His infectious smile and big heart will be sorely missed. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Community Church of Douglas, 6780 Wiley Rd. Douglas, MI 49406, with Rev. Dennis De Witt officiating. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. A reception will be held following the service @ 544 St Joseph Street, in Saugatuck. This is a casual, Joshua-style get-together to celebrate his life. Everyone is welcome.
