Lorraine R. Maatman

Lorraine Ruth Maatman, age 96, of Holland, MI, entered her enteral home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, October 22, 2023. Lorraine attended Central Wesleyan Church and shined brightly for Jesus all her life. She loved the Lord and loved people. She always made people feel special. She will be especially remembered by her children and grandchildren for: -her love and care for her husband for so many years -her love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren -her love for music and singing her favorite hymns -teaching us how to bake and how to can pickles -for the piles of ironing she did for us over the years and sometimes bringing Gramma Koenes to help! -for the way she would clean your house, even when you asked her not to -for her love for big roller coasters at Cedar Point -for her willingness to watch grandkids so we could work. -the great attitude she had when she golfed using only her woods and putter, pulling down a bead for each stroke, getting an 8 most holes and acting like she got a par! -her love for ice cream!!! She was loved by many and will be missed always! Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Herb. She is survived by her children: Barb (Ron) Wayner of Sutton, AK Bill (Lu) Maatman of Holland, MI Brenda (Kevin) McKenna of Byron Center, MI 7 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren 3 great-great grandchildren and many extended relatives. The family wants to thank all the people at Resthaven Care Center that showed so much love and took such amazing care of Lorraine over the last 5 years, as well as the people from Hospice of Holland over the last 6 months. Funeral services are planned for 10:30am Thursday, October 26 at Langeland-Sternberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th Street, Holland, MI, with Pastor Mary DeWitt officiating. A time of visitation will follow from 11:15am-12:30pm. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Resthaven Care Center and Hospice of Holland.
