Alvin D. Huizenga Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Alvin D. Huizenga, 86, of Borculo, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 26, 2022. Al was born on September 29, 1935, in Zeeland, to Gerrit and Reka (Styf) Huizenga. Al married Geneva Meppelink in 1955. They raised their four children in Borculo and are members of Borculo Christian Reformed Church. Al worked for VandenBosch Feed for many years before his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Geneva, their children: Dave and Deb Huizenga, Sheryl and Kirk Oosting, Mike Huizenga and Robin, Nancy and Lon Kloosterman; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; his sister, Angie Gruppen; sister-in-law, Joan and John Stremler; sister-in-law, Joan and John Stremler; brother-in-law, Henry and Ann Meppelink; sister-in-law, Harriet Ten Broeke; and many extended family members. A visitation will be held 4:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland MI 49464. Private committal services will be held at Borculo Cemetery. A service to honor the faith and life of Alvin D. Huizenga will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 30, at Borculo Christian Reformed Church, 6464 96th Ave., Zeeland MI 49464. Memorial contributions may be made to Borculo Christian School.
