David Bushen

September 15, 1949 - July 15, 2021

David Bushen, age 71, of Zeeland, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021. David was born on September 15, 1949 to Harold and Dorothy Bushen. After graduating from Grandville High School, he went on to Western Michigan University where he received a degree in business administration. After marrying his wife Roxanne (Couretas) they raised their family in Hamilton, Michigan. He worked for many years in financial planning with Old Kent, 5th/3rd and more recently at Macatawa Bank. He enjoyed preparing taxes and gave his time and expertise to help with taxes through the AARP. A man of few words, David was humble and methodical in his work, but he loved his family fiercely. In addition to family, David was passionate about horses, golf and fishing. He had a strong faith and was active at Central Wesleyan Church. David is survived by his wife of 47 years, Roxanne Bushen; children: Jennifer (Matthew) Clayton, Jonathan (Heidi) Bushen; grandchildren Brynn Clayton, Madelyn Clayton, David Alexander Clayton, and Grady Bushen. A funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Central Wesleyan Church, 446 West 40th Street, Holland, MI 49423 with Rev. Lynn Bruce officiating. Visitation with the family is from 5:30pm to 8:00pm on Sunday July 18, 2021 at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State St. Zeeland, MI 49464. As well as from 10:30am-11:15am at church prior to the funeral service on Monday. Memorial contributions in David's honor may be given to the American Cancer Society.
