Elaine Riebe

Elaine A. Riebe, age 93, of Holland, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Freedom Village with her husband and children by her side. She graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1945 and attended Albion College afterward for a year. Following that, she received her RN degree from Wesley Memorial Hospital and used that degree working as an RN at various Doctor's Offices in Kalamazoo before retiring. Elaine was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Faith was very important to her as well as her family. Most of all, she loved to travel the world with her husband Ken, especially to Elder Hostels. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Vera; her sister, Marguerite; brother, Dalton; brothers-in-law, Clifford (Helen) Riebe, Bob Stowers, Glenn (Betty) Riebe; and granddaughter, Cassidy. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Kenneth; children Barbara (Kim) Sumner, Richard (Julie) Riebe, Michael (Denise) Riebe; grandchildren: Ryan, Scott, Hannah, Liz; great grandchildren: Andrew, Charles; and beloved niece and nephews and their spouses. A private family service to honor the life of Elaine will be held at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Freedom Village in Holland.
