Joyce Buis

Joyce Buis, age 82, of Holland, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at Resthaven Maple Woods Cottages. Joyce attended Dickinson Elementary School, graduated from South High School in 1957, and then attended Grand Rapids Junior College. She, along with her husband Bill, owned and operated Buis Mattress. Joyce was a member of the Ladies Golf Association, the Holland Junior Welfare League, and was a longtime member of the Holland Country Club. She was also a member at First United Methodist Church in Holland. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Buis, in 2016; granddaughter, Adeline Truttman; sister, Shirley Carnahan; and brother, John Etheridge. Joyce is survived by her: Daughters Betsy (Marc) Dozeman Diane (Bob) Teasley Molly (Jay) Truttman all of Holland Grandchildren Samantha (Ryan) Libby William (Aida) Dozeman John Teasley and Cam Ledy Hanna Teasley and Alec Skalecki Benton Truttman Gerbrand Truttman William Truttman Great Grandchildren Ryker Libby Hudson Libby Araceli Dozeman Siblings Whitney Carnahan of Waterford, MI Carolynne Etheridge of Spring Lake, MI Brother-in-law Thomas Buis of Holland Several nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned for 3:00pm Saturday, November 27 at First United Methodist Church, 57 W 10th St., with Rev. Brad Bartelmay officiating.
