    Lois Bosman

    November 1, 1938 - November 24, 2021

Lois Marie Bosman nee Rottschafer, age 83, of Holland, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at her home in Holland. Lois was blessed to be born to parents who loved the Lord, bringing her to church and schooling her in Christian Schools. Through the working of the Lord in her heart and the influence of her parents in her life, Lois came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. This love for the Lord she extended to her children and grandchildren. Lois was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and at a young age moved to Chicago with her family. Living in Englewood, she attended 2nd Englewood CRC and graduated from Chicago Christian High School in 1956. After graduation, she attended Calvin College before moving back to Englewood, Ill, where she married her husband of 62 years, Benjamin Bosman. Lois and Ben raised their children in Thornton, Ill and attended Cottage Grove CRC where she was involved in Ladies Society and raising money for Calvin Christian School. She, with her husband, ran Associated Refuse Disposal of Chicago for many years before retiring to Central Lake, Mich., and joining Ellsworth CRC. In 2013 she moved to Holland, Mich to be closer to her children. All her life, she loved the Lord with an infectious joy and grace and had an enormous impact on her many friends and extensive family. Lois was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Kostelyk, and daughters-in-law: Susan Bosman and Iaci Bosman. Lois is survived by her husband, Ben; children: Duane (Roxanne) Bosman of Big Bay, Mich, Carolyn (Ken) De Jong of Bloomington, Ind, Ken (Jill) Bosman of Ft. Myers, Fl., Dean (Linda) Bosman of Lansing, Ill, and Steve Bosman of Wayland, Mich.; as well as grandchildren: Brent (Holly) Bosman, Bonnie (Blake) WIlliams, Becky Bosman, Jonathan De Jong, Joshua De Jong, Elise De Jong, Abigail De Jong, Noah (Christina) Bosman, Nate Bosman, Tyler Bosman, Sara Bosman, Rachel Bosman, Alex Bosman, Amy Bosman, and Jennifer Bosman; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Pearl (Ron) Den Hartog of Palm Springs, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at noon on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:45, also at the funeral home. Memorial Gifts may be directed to Ebenezer Christian School of Ellsworth, Mich. www.langelandsterenberg.com.
