    Margaret (Schutte) Scholten

    September 25, 1928 - December 26, 2021

Margaret Scholten, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in her "new home" at Resthaven Cottages at the age of 93. We are grateful for the attentive care given to her by friends, family, hospice and Resthaven staff during this last time period. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Vern Schutte, and her second husband, Ed Scholten. Surviving children with Vern are Jan Schutte, Jaci Eding, Jim (Dawn) Schutte and Jeanne (Eric) Wagenfeld. Surviving from her second marriage are Dale and Donna Scholten, Ron and Mae Scholten, Carol and Fred Hanko, and Steve and Karen Scholten. She has many grandchildren and great grandchildren who would always put a smile on her face. Surviving siblings are Junior (Frances) Schreur, Gordon (Bea) Schreur, Jay (Carolyn) Schreur, and Juella (Milo-deceased) Boerman. Margaret faithfully attended Hamilton Christian Reformed Church and is now with her Lord and Savior. She found joy in serving Him and others. Everyone who knew her, knew they were loved. Her service contributions were many and varied from church, mission work, food pantry, and world relief missions. She had a special joy in providing for and giving to her family. Margaret and Vern (and later Ed Scholten) enjoyed and worked diligently raising strawberries from 1950-2005. Margaret also graduated from high school at the age of 56. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm, Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Hamilton Christian Reformed Church, 3596 47th Ave. Hamilton, MI 49419. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, Dec. 29, also at Hamilton CRC. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Hamilton. Memorial contributions if desired can be made to the Hamilton CRC, or TCT-Ask the Pastor Program. Due to many immune compromised family members, it is requested that masks are worn and Covid precautions are practiced whenever possible. Thank you for understanding. Arrangements by Yntema Funeral Home.
