Michael Allen "Mike" De Vree

July 18, 1952 - September 26, 2015

Michael (Mike) Allen De Vree, 63, of Holland, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 26, 2015 after a struggle with cancer. Mike was born in Holland, Michigan, July 18, 1952, to Jerald and Maurine (Lazelle) De Vree. He graduated from West Ottawa High School in 1970. In Mike's working career, he was employed for Dura, Lear, and the last 5 years at Johnson Controls-Lakewood as a manufacturing engineer. Mike loved Lake Michigan beaches and boating on Lake Michigan. He treasured his time on the golf course, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Marcia (Kroeger) De Vree, children: Rick and Mandy De Vree, Tracey and Leon Lubbers, Abby and Ben Dunavent, Alenna and Jason Edwards; 11 grandchildren: Colten Mobley, Justin De Vree, Dakota Lubbers, Carsyn Lubbers, Zander Lubbers, Tristan Lubbers, Addisyn Lubbers, Kaden Dunavent, Eli Dunavent, Payton Edwards, Isaiah Edwards; his parents: Jerald and Maurine De Vree, brother: Tom and Elizabeth De Vree, Bob and Shar De Vree; mother-in-law Joyce Kroeger, in-laws: Cindy and Don Block, Karl and Donna Kroeger, Debbie Roark, several nieces and nephews. A service to honor and remember Mike De Vree will be held at 2:00 pm. Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made Hospice of Holland or the American Cancer Society.
