Nick Leegwater Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Nick Leegwater Holland, Michigan - Nick Leegwater, age 81, of Holland, died Friday, May 14, 2021 at Spectrum Zeeland Hospital from advanced Pulmonary Fibrosis. Nick was an active member of Niekerk Christian Reformed Church. He taught for four years in Whitinsville Massachusetts, four years in Ripon California, four years at Elim Christian School. He spent the next 33 years owning and operating Windmill Greenhouse. In retirement he spent time as a para-pro at Zeeland Christian School and worked diligently at Menards in Holland, MI. Nick and Bev spent all their extra time chasing grandchildren and enjoyed endless amount of sporting activities. Nick lived life to the fullest and was active until his final days. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bev; children, Greg and Kristine Leegwater, Brent and Val Leegwater, Jeff and Marcie Leegwater, Joel and Leslie Leegwater; 11 grandchildren. Britney, Emily and Avery Leegwater; Briana, Lyndsey and Sydney Leegwater; Dillan, Haley and Elliot Leegwater; Nickolas and Lydia Leegwater. He is survived by siblings John and Philis Leegwater of Highland, IN, Anna Jean Leegwater of Midland Park, NJ, Martin and Thea Leegwater of North Haledon, NJ, Trena and Bernie Greenfield of Midland Park, NJ, Jan Leegwater of Ripon California and Bart and Sheryl Leegwater of Lavalette, NJ And many nephews and nieces. He is survived by siblings-in-law Myrt Steenwyk of Hudsonville, MI, Nelson and Judy Brower of Hudsonville, MI, Randy and Karen Brower of Hopkins, MI. And many nephews and nieces. Proceeded in death by his parents Klaas and Trene Leegwater of Midland Park, NJ. Parents in-law Russel, Rena and Eunice Brower of Hudsonville, MI. Brothers Jacob Leegwater, Arie Leegwater, and sister and brother-in-law Gerald and Martha DeHoog. Also brothers and sisters-in-law Bill Steenwyk, Harlene and Maurie Gabrielse and Ruth Turrentine. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Niekerk Christian Reformed Church, 545 Country Club Rd. Holland with Rev. Darren Kornelis officiating.
