    Paul R. Swett

    January 21, 1968 - June 10, 2021

Paul R. Swett, age 53, of Zeeland, was carried into the arms of Jesus on June 10th, 2021 after a 20 month battle with metastatic colon cancer. Paul was the son of Robert and Donna Swett and was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan. He attended Reeths-Puffer high school and graduated from Muskegon Community College with an associate degree in science. Paul began his career as a draftsman, drawing technical plans for Keur Industries. Having an analytical mind and an eye for detail, he went on to become a journeymen machinist at Buhler Prince, where he worked for 27 years. Paul could fix anything around the house, enjoyed keeping his vehicles spotlessly clean and enjoyed black and white classic movies. He also loved the beauty of the Smokey mountains. Paul attended Immanuel Church of Holland for 22 years and served in various capacities during that time. He especially enjoyed serving in the coffee bar. Paul will always be remembered as a quiet, faithful husband, father, son, brother and friend. He loved nature, gardening, birds, and his home. His Labrador Annie was greatly loved and brought great comfort to him during his months of illness. His faith, family, and home were all he needed for contentment in this life. Paul was preceded in death by his father, Robert, in March 2020. Paul is survived by his wife of 31 years, Paula; children, Andrew Swett (Katy Kuipers), Joshua Swett (Kate), Megan Deters (Nicholas), and Danielle Swett; grandson, Caspian Swett; mother, Donna Swett; sister and nephew, Pamela and Samuel Stroud; parents-in-law, Raymond and Marguerite Betts; as well as many other beloved family and friends. A memorial service is planned for 11:00am Thursday, June 17 at Immanuel Church of Holland, 325 104th Ave., Holland. Pastor Alyn Goossen will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service concluding with burial in Pilgrim Home Cemetery at 1:30pm for anyone who wishes to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Positive Options or Hospice of Holland. The Swett family would like to thank Kelly Parling-Lynch and staff at Cancer and Hematology and Hospice of Holland. Arrangements are by Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home and condolences may be left online at www.langelandsterenberg.com.
