    Wesley Drost

    April 2, 1935 - February 27, 2022

    Wesley M. (“Wes”) Drost, 86, of Holland entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Rest Haven Care Center after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Wes was the son of Julius and Julia Drost and graduated from Holland High School. He was a longtime member of Messiah’s Independent Reformed Church. He married Betty Heetderks on June 21, 1957, and raised their children in Hamilton. For many years he worked for Hamilton Block and Redi-mix and Brewers City Dock. Wes loved woodworking and also loved hunting. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty; their children, Cindy and Kraig Meyer, Tim and Shawn Drost, Steve and Nancy Drost, Mike and Lynda Drost, Rachel and Garry Prins; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Deanna and Paul Payne, Bill and Marla Drost, Alyce and Paul Gronevelt; sister-in-law, Joann Heetderks; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Per his wishes a private family service will be Friday, March 18. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Messiah’s Independent Reformed Church Building Fund, 4528 48th St., Holland, MI 49423.
