William "Captain Bill" Maclean
July 26, 1938 - December 7, 2021
On December 7, 2021 William (Captain Bill) Maclean passed suddenly to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 83. He was born and raised in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. He joined the Navy in 1955 and became a Navy Seal traveling the world for Seven tours of duty protecting our country. He retired from the Navy after a lifetime of service in 1975 and continued on as a Navy recruiter in Holland, Michigan. Bill also worked for Bell and Howell as a Director. He owned his own print shop and later his print brokerage business. His greatest love was his Charter Captain business, which he enjoyed in the summer months. He served on the board for the Big Red Classic fishing tournaments and for the Steelhead fishing tournaments. Bill was preceded in death by his father and mother, Bruce and Alice (Proulx) Maclean and his two sisters, Marge (Earnie) Gugin and Madelon (Jack) Weir and his nephew, John R Weir and niece, Carol (Gugin) Powell. Bill has 5 surviving nieces: Diane (Gugin) Langton (Fred), Sandy (Gugin) Smith (Clyde), Marge (Weir) Johnston (Ray), Nancy (Weir) Romzek (Steve), Patty (Weir Coleman (Bill), and 15 great nieces and nephews.
